But behind the glamour, their families’ lives were shaped by rootlessness and the threat of sudden death in a plane as dangerous as it was magnificent. Now, three Originals’ daughters are going back to their childhood base to tell the story of the legendary fighter jet – their way. Starfighter Baby is seen through the lens of the pilots’ heroic wives, and the air force brats who grew up in circumstances that would forever set them apart from their civilian peers. It is about the unspoken terror of losing a father, the military burden to never voice your fears, and how growing up with no hometown and nowhere to belong reverberates through a lifetime. |
